Labor Day Week - 25th Event 2010 This family camping event will feature a gathering of VW Transporters of all types and eras from all over the USA. While predominantly a Type 2 event, all models of VW are welcome to camp with us! We are looking forward to seeing you and your Type 2 amidst all the "Split-window," "Bubble-windows," Vanagons, and EuroVans as well as other VWs this Fall. |

I've been working with students learning this skill for six years and have refined my approach so that the student walks away with hands on knowledge. As with a lot of skills, practice is a necessity and this is no exception, but after class you will have a technique to continue and grow. Please give one week advance notice if taking the class. I will make a start piece for you in your color choice. Purchase or bring to Lady Bug Beads SIX distinctly different colors of #8 seed beads and leave them at the store for me to pickup. This starter has been the secret to my recent student's success. |

Corvette Funfest 2010, put on by Mid America MotorworksConveniently located at the intersection of Interstates 57 & 70 in Effingham, IL. Bracelet Making Classes - Class times will be posted as they become available for Friday and Saturday of the Funfest weekend. I've been out shopping for beads for all of you Corvette ladies. There are some awesome choices for you this year. There is still quit a bit of time to shop as well, so who knows what I will come up with yet. Great Corvette bracelets and Fashion Bracelets for you to make while the guys look at Corvettes and talk about Corvettes. We will have our own fun! |

Yeah, you can do this. We will make all sorts of findings and elements commonly used in jewelry making. Not that the findings market will collapse with your new found skill, but now you can put that personal touch in all of your jewelry designs. Toggle, hooks, beads, and fun and fanciful elements are just a few of the pieces you will be making during class. Please bring your wire working pliers; chain nose, round nose, and bent (if you have them) nose, for you will be working with them through out the class. |

Beyond etching, this class is filled with basic metalsmithing skills you will take home to apply to future jewelry projects. Including etched surface designs in the overall design process expands the possibilities in your jewelry creations and expands your jewelry making arsenal. |

The Great Lakes Art Fair is the fastest growing indoor Art event in the Midwest. From its inception in Spring 2009 to the most recent event, attendance has more than doubled. Have no fear and learn to saw metal, with a gentle, no-pressure approach. Once all of the parts are cut, you will refine them to glowing perfection while learn to file metal. In the end we will bring all the parts together and assemble by riveting. Come ready to get to work. There are a lot of metalsmithing skills and tools incorporated into this class of jewelry making fun. |

The four beginning skills taught in this class are sooooo doable for anyone starting to stitch; two strand stringing, peyote stitch, loopstitch and coraling. If you are just starting out in the world of bead weaving and want to have a good foundation in stitching skills and thread management, this introduction will give you creative wings. The bracelet itself appears to be complex, but the tasks are well within the range of any beginner. You will be doing a lot of easy tasks, over and over that ends up looking like you are a long time master. |

Lots of wire wrapping. Just so you don’t get frustrated in class, you should feel comfortable making a basic wire wrap. I will help you refine and improve all of your wire wrapping skills. Be on the look out for great leaves, flowers and drops to include in your focal cascade. The necklace can be finished with chain or a bead strung length to the closure. |

In this class you will learn to etch images on metal with Ferric Chloride, an easy metal technique to cut out metal discs, how to use the tools to create depth in the metal, and how to patina the metal to make the etched images pop. This will be a busy day of learning in metalsmithing techniques and then you will preform tasks using those skills. The resulting bracelet is a charm. |
